Horses and Heroes of Southeast Florida

Veterans & First Responders

Our programs are designed to help Veterans & First Responders on their journey of healing emotional scar tissue by utilizing tools such as Equine Assisted Learning. Difficulties can develop after a person has experienced or witnessed a traumatic event that threatens their safety or sense of security, such as military members have endured, as well as law enforcement and firefighters in the line of duty. Trauma affects people differently; while some may not experience any effects until later in life, others feel an almost immediate impact. Developing healthier ways to cope with these traumas is key and our equine-assisted programs offer the environment needed to do so.
